Both studied Industrial Design at Korea University and later completed their studies in Industrial Design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Germany. The studio works across furniture, product design, interior objects, and color, material, and finish development, with a focus on thoughtful designs shaped by everyday use, material properties, and close observation.Their practice is strongly hands-on, combining conceptual thinking with making processes such as woodworking, metalworking, and prototyping. Through physical experimentation, WAK develops ideas into objects that are functional, precise, and materially grounded.Before founding the studio, Se Hyeon Won and Namju Kim gained experience at Samsung Electronics Design Membership, Ingo Maurer, Bosch, and Model Group, working across product design, lighting, packaging, and industrial production contexts.
