The project begins with a simple observation: when a line is curved, new roles emerge. In Curved Coatstand, each bend defines its purpose — the lower curve becomes the leg, the upper forms the hanger. The structure is not added onto the form; the structure is the form.
The concept developed through direct, hands-on experiments in the workshop. By bending steel plates manually, we observed how subtle changes in curvature affected balance, stance, and stability. Multiple mockups and material tests refined the geometry until the form carried itself clearly and functioned without any superfluous elements.
